Jim Brickman Enters AC Chart With "Never Alone"; His 24th AC-Charting Single Puts Him on Top of AC Record Book
Hit Single Features Hillary Scott and Lady Antebellum
SANTA MONICA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 12, 2007 -- Jim Brickman garnered a record 24th AC chart entry this week with the success of "Never Alone," the new single from his SLG Records debut, "ESCAPE," which features guest vocalist Hillary Scott and her group Lady Antebellum. Brickman officially holds the record for most AC chart appearances (over Elton John and Rod Stewart) since the AC list converted to Nielsen BDS data in July 1993. "ESCAPE" entered both the Billboard Top 200 Chart and New Age Chart when it was released in October 2006 and is on course to be one of his bestselling recordings. "Never Alone," the second single from "ESCAPE," follows up the album's first AC single "Hideaway - When it Snows" which peaked at #2 on the chart in December. A new video for "Never Alone" is currently streaming at www.slgmusicus.com.
Brickman's first collaboration with SLG Records is a fine return to form for the chart-topping, multi-platinum artist. "ESCAPE" is a lush, unabashed work of romanticism, both in the instrumental compositions and vocal ballads -- a niche that he almost single-handedly dominates. Like his numerous gold and platinum-selling projects, "ESCAPE" features an enchanting collection of gorgeous piano compositions, romantic piano and vocal ballads and rhythmic light jazz selections.
Jim Brickman's remarkable career includes six Gold and Platinum-selling albums, three #1 and thirteen Top 10 Adult Contemporary radio hits, consistent debuts at #1 on Billboard's New Age chart, a Grammy nomination in 2003, SESAC "Songwriter of the Year" award, a Canadian Country Music Award for "Best Vocal/Instrumental Collaboration," a Dove Award presented by the Gospel Music Association for "The Gift" and sold-out concert tours internationally.
